The Prospector

Room 7, the Prospector, is a pet-friendly room with two twin beds. The maximum occupancy for this room is two, not including pets.

This is a rustic, homey room with patchwork quilts, a rocking chair and artwork featuring gold mining. The colour scheme is red and black, with white accents. The furniture is hand crafted and solid. Of particular note is the golden oak triangular Parson’s Desk from the Anglican Church in Haines Junction, Yukon. A lovely piece of furniture—beautiful yet practical.

The Prospector was fully refurbished in 2019, with new floors, paint, trim, window treatments, heaters, furniture and art.

All rooms at The ’98 Hotel are accessible. The access is ground floor, with no stairs in the lobby, guest hallway, guest rooms, shared guest washrooms or kitchenette. There is a step down into the washrooms in the Hotel Lounge (the bar).
