The Barmaid

Barmaid Themed Accommodation in Whitehorse

Room 6, the Barmaid, is a pet-friendly room with a double bed. The maximum occupancy for this room is two, not including pets.

This is a flirty room, decorated in soft blues and bold reds. The Barmaid features a beautiful antique writing desk (from which the barmaid wrote letters to her folks about her new job as the town teacher), as well as an ornate three-drawer dresser with a ceramic basin and jug in soft blues. There are several large mirrors in the room.

The dresser came from the Penguin Hotel in Dawson City (the hotel burned down many years ago). The dresser was given to Eva Stehelin in pieces, in the early 70s. Eva rebuilt and refinished the dresser, and moved it to The ’98 Hotel for guests to enjoy.

The Barmaid was fully refurbished in 2019, with new floors, paint, trim, window treatments, heaters, furniture and art.

All rooms at The ’98 Hotel are accessible. The access is ground floor, with no stairs in the lobby, guest hallway, guest rooms, shared guest washrooms or kitchenette. There is a step down into the washrooms in the Hotel Lounge (the bar).
