Enjoy Live Entertainment at The ’98 Hotel Lounge
About the Lounge
The ’98 opened in 1943 as ‘The ’98 Ballroom’, complete with a full orchestra. In 1951, a cocktail lounge was added. In 1952, it became The ’98 Hotel, and advertised its new and modern rooms.
The current Lounge was refurbished in 2019. It boasts a unique, locally made bar that was designed by Eva Stehelin; a copper medallion style ceiling; an antique rifle collection, and other antiques and northern memorabilia on the walls and around the room.
The Lounge is accessible on the first level, but has one step up to the fireplace nook, and one step down to the washroom.
Spend an evening reeling around the dance floor to the rousing fiddle music of Joe Loutchan and Friends. (Thursdays from 7:30-11pm, September to mid June).
Dust off your talent and join the fun at Open Mic Night on Sundays from 8-11pm.
There are also local bands and artists that perform at The ’98 Hotel Lounge. Follow us on Facebook to stay informed about upcoming performances.
Hours: The Lounge is open 9am-11pm.
You must be age 19 or older to enter The ’98 Lounge. We regret to say that no minors are allowed in (although miners are quite welcome).
